And depending on gene type. I am so white I look like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. My wife is of Italian descent and looks green when standing next to me.

What they should call it is skin color. But given there are so many variations of skin color, that won't work either. Just pick the color and give it a proper name.

Sigh. In fact, I think if the author were asked, he'd know that Henry VIII was succeeded by his son, Edward VI. This was a case of not saying what he meant to say. As I said, where were the editors? Where was anyone, really, who saw the book in its many stages before publication?

Ummm... green? The only time I've seen green as a skin tone has been in reference to seasickness and other illnesses.

In these days in here are coming out two books, by two authors (one novel, made by a granddoughter from one of the persons that were there involved, within a more emotional approach on what those it means, socially; the other that is a revisitation of a previous work from '95, that now by adding documents from England and others it reached 1000 pages), about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porz%C3%BBs_massacre. It explains how, despite all the documents from the processes have been always accessible, no one changed from an official version.
The whole story says the Osoppo was quite involved on far right side instead.

No, it's also a color, or rather a range of colors that are natural skin tones.

Yes, that's a common description, though not very accurate. Some Spanish, Italians and Greeks.

Nor is white (unless you are dead & drained of blood), pink, red (possibly if badly burnt or sunburned) or yellow (certainly not East Asians and not really if you've "jaundice") as skin colours.

That's why Crayola eliminated the color "Flesh" (a pink-ish sort of color). It was controversial because it didn't match all flesh colors.
