Hi @Waldy,

my Tolino Shine 2 HD just "killed itself" and refuses to show any signs of life after being unused for about 1,5 months.
I have already tried everything, plus measured the voltage of the battery - after multiple nights of having it on USB power, it's at around 4,3V (measuring the conductor next to the battery connector). It does barely decrease when the device tries to power on.
Powering on the device does not show any signs of life on the display. The only thing that happens is that the LED lights up, that's it. Connecting the device to Windows reveals it registers as 'SE Blank MEGREZ'. This also disconnects when I press and hold the power button, and re-appears if I hold it again.

I suspect and hope it's just the microSD that decided to die, as also trying to image it with Win32 DiskImager throws the error "data error: cyclic redundancy". I ordered a new microSD arriving tomorrow, which I could put a known working image on.

Do you happen to have a good disk image for board 37NB-E60QF0+4A3 (SN 753x27xx)? (Preferably stock, but something modded/rooted whatever is also very much fine)

Hoping to be able to revive my eBook reader and reducing e-waste... Thanks a bunch from Germany!

@Waldy

Would you happen to know how I can change the store on my Tolino Vision Colour? I'm currently linked with Thalia, but I'd love to change that to Libri so that I can use my favourite local bookshop instead.

There seem to be options for that in the ereader.conf file, but I don't know what I should put into the fields.

I know that I can link my libraries (which I already did) but having to use my PC or smartphone browser is a bit inconvenient.

No, I don't use bookstores and at the moment all my devices are from Thalia, I can't experiment.)

Update for anyone who might stumble across this via Google:
Using a "fresh" image provided by Waldy on a brand new SanDisk High Endurance card still did not work.
I even attempted using a new battery from Amazon and it has the exact same behavior: The device does not boot, it just lights up its LED and the screen does not change at all, while reporting as "SE Blank MEGREZ" when connected to a Windows PC.

Will post or edit this post in case I got it fixed somehow, maybe Waldy still has another idea. 🤞

Cannot edit my post, so will drop a short update:
The mainboard is broken. A replacement mainboard boots with no issues, with the same battery, screen etc.
Quite unfortunate my mainboard just broke while sitting idle for a month, never heard of such cases...

What are the first two digits of the serial number? 20, 21, or 22?
If it's 20 or 21 (4A2 motherboard), you can install an internal microSD card with a Kobo Glo image. Trust me, this is a better option with KOReader than searching for an older version for Android 2.3.4.
In any case, you need to disassemble the device.

One of the simple ways is to start TWRP, save the books just in case (although they should remain) and do a Factory Reset.
Wipe -> Swipe to Factory Reset -> Reboot System -> Do Not Install
