I meant that it is properly implemented in an official firmware

I would love to be able to connect my hearing aids to my Kobo to listen to my audiobooks instead of having to switch to my headphones via Bluetooth. It seems that most manufacturers ignore hearing aids when considering connectable Bluetooth devices.

There are hearing aids that are Bluetooth compatible.

To me, the OPs original message reads as if their hearing aids are Bluetooth compatible but their Kobo ereader does not see them as a connectable device.

Right On! My hearing aids connect to my phone no problem, but not to my Kobo.

Not the same BT. Horrible standard and most devices only implement part of it.

I wanted a kobo interface to Pocket that handled tags.

I still want it for instapaper.

Hi everyone!
I have the following problem: I own a Kobo Glo N613, which I connected to my computer, and without asking, it started updating. Unfortunately, it didn’t survive this update. I received an SD card image here on the forum, which I wrote to a new SD card. That brought the device back to life. I was happy, but it didn’t last long. I was no longer able to complete the setup process.

I tried connecting to Wi-Fi, but it won’t connect. It does see the network—if I enter the wrong password, it notices—but when I enter the correct details, it just returns me to the date and time settings screen. The other setup method is via cable, but in that case, everything starts over again: it immediately updates and the device breaks once more.

What could be the solution? Where should I start?

Why would the device update when you connect over USB? Updates are usually delivered over Wi-Fi, which you've already said doesn't work.

It might have started to update while plugged in via USB if an update file was found and the device did not have enough power for the update when not attached.

I'd like highlight and translate functionality.

Some of the older books I read will have phrases in foreign languages thrown in. For example, you see this a lot in Sherlock Holmes stories.

With my old Kindle Fire, I was able to highlight selections and get a translation. At best, I have to go word by word on my KOBO.

This would really improve my reading experience.

A Way to Completely (but temporarily) Disable the Touch Screen

I would still like to see a total and complete disabling of the touch screen (like what the Kindle Oasis 3 had, which also had buttons. Turning the unit off and then back on once again enabled the buttons.)

Now, whey would I like this feature? I enjoy a more secure hold ANYWHERE on the bezel or screen whenever I choose to do so.

This is the ONE thing I dislike about Kobo's lineup, in addition the current batch of Kindles.

Yes, I understand I can partially "disable" the touch and instead utilize the swipe technique, but this only sometimes works for me, and I inadvertently end up turning a page. Or two.

I would like a way to disable the buttons permanently other then damaging the hardware.

Speaking of buttons, would be cool if I could wake up my Libra 2 with the page turn buttons, like the Colour version can do.
