Smile Why I came here?

Hello!

I am CyberRArchiver and I look for lost media. I, along with a team of friends look for some lost eBooks published or sold by an old company named CyberRead a bit more than two decades ago. There's even a subreddit on what we are doing (although I am the main Reddit poster).

Link to subreddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/CyberReadArchives/

By the way, I am interested in whether anyone here has a copy of two interactive Italian eBooks written only in English and based off Geronimo Stilton (lost for 25 years):
  1. Geronimo Stilton's Illustrated Tails
  2. Geronimo Stilton's Humorous Tails

These could be some of the earliest works of Geronimo Stilton ever written in English, few years before Scholastic would publish translations of them in 2004.

I also came here to check whether people would have other (rumored to be lost) eBooks made for Microsoft Reader (the software the eBooks needed for the reader to read them). By the way, I am an old software-enthusiast and have an old version Microsoft Reader (from 2000) to run old LIT files on it.

Thanks!

I have three ebooks bought at CyberRead. I don't think any of them are rare, but PM sent.

I still have emails from CyberRead. Are they of any interest?

I dimly remember buying from CyberRead, and I probably still have the books, but I don't remember which of my books I bought there. The email address I used back then no longer exists and nothing in my Calibre library is marked as bought from or published by CyberRead.

In short, if I knew authors and/or titles, I could look them up. Otherwise, no idea.

Would you please check your computer/eBook reader for those eBooks, some of them could be lost media in today's time?

Yes, if I knew the author and/or title of the books you seek (how else could I check?). No Geronimo Stilton or any other children's books, that I know for sure.

Well! At least you could send me what you could have on your PC. I am also looking for other lost eBooks (not Stilton):
  1. Terminal Resolve (Robert E. Brisbin)
  2. Two Manx (Rick Dreyer)
  3. Outside Time (Cathy Miller)
  4. Silver Wings (Manda May)

And also Stilton related eBooks as well:
  1. Il Mio Primo Manual di Internet
  2. Il Piccolo Libro Della Pace

I also hope you can contact someone you know whether he/she has those eBooks or not.

No, sorry, I don't have any of those.

I have several hundred ebooks bought from various small publishers 15-20 years ago, too many to send a list. Most are not from CyberRead and I don't think they'd interest you. The main genres I bought back then are fantasy, science fiction, romance and erotica.

Okay! If that's all you have, I will be pleased but please if possible, send me some you think were published by CyberRead as they could be lost media nowadays for some reason.

None of them were probably published by CyberRead, as no such publisher exists in my calibre database. Some of them were almost certainly sold by CyberRead; unfortunately I have not the slightest idea which, as the email address I used at that time no longer exists, and I don't remember what I bought from where two decades ago. Too many books.

As most of those books are still in copyright, lost media or not, I can't just send them to random people on the internet (no offense meant). If the authors themselves asked, that would be another matter.

Okay! First before uploading, you need to search for them online whether they are still sold on Amazon or other platforms today or not. One key factor of lost media is that there should be very little to no information about it online.

It doesn't matter if they're being sold or not, they're still in copyright and sharing them without the copyright holder's permission is illegal.

Fine! At least the copyright for those two lost interactive Geronimo Stilton eBooks has apparently been expired (according to a friend's research). Also, the validity of the ISBN for Geronimo Stilton's Illustrated Tails remains lost to this day (almost) while the ISBN for the other one, Geronimo Stilton's Humorous Tails, remains lost.

I am interested in looking for them because they had interactive features like an inbuilt dictionary, viewing character profiles, animated illustrations and music and other advanced features which may never be seen again.

This is one of the only two images depicting the eBooks (always the cover only) in the hands of a little girl's eBook Reader photographed for an Italian newspaper in 2001.

I hope the eBooks get found soon along with other pieces of lost media, eBook or not!
