complete reset after I log out of kobo account on Libre 2 reader
I have been travelling a lot, crossing timezones, with limited internet access, so my Kobo Libre 2 got confused somehow, with the wrong time showing, even when the timezone was corrected.
I found that, I could not change the time/date - there was a message on the settings screen saying it will be set automatically when you connect to Wifi - which I could not do. I thought it might be because my Kobo was showing as logged into the Kobo account, so I signed out on that setting screen. This triggered an immediate crash and a complete reset to the original setup mode where it starts by asking what language, the needs to be connected to wifi or a computer via usb. So I did the full setup again to get it running. Later in the trip (it was a 4 month trip) the times were again askew, so I tried the same thing, and the result was again - a full reset and setup from scratch required. This does not seem right. Anyone know what is going wrong here? |

Yes, that's correct. Logging out of your Kobo account triggers the recreation of the device database.

Well I never would have expected that. A warning, at least, would have been nice. Especially as I don't normally have access to a Windows computer to get the device working again (I run Linux and had to spin up a virtual machine to fix it)

Well, on a 4 month trip with many many timezone changes (on a ship they sometimes also artificially change the ship time) I wanted the Kobo to be correct. When I am sitting around reading, I wanted to be able to see what time it was. Also, having the wrong time screws up the automated screen colour chnging. It was going yellow early in the day.

There is no obvious button, but if you touch any of those items, (Date, Time, or Time Zone,) there is a pop-up dialogue allowing you to change them.

There must be some setting somewhere else, as the message below on that same screen implies it will be set automatically.

Just tried it again - nope, neither the date nor the time line is responsive.

![]() I can edit Date or Time on my Sage. I'm sure I can change the Date on anything except a Kindle. EDIT Just checked my Libra H2O and it was 2012. So I set time zone, date and time. Note: I normally have WiFi off and Internet Time will override the manual setting, so it's important to set the time zone (you can select a city) when WiFi is OFF. I just tried on my Clara 2E and I cannot edit the date or time, just the timezone. Firmware 4.37.21586.

I just tried my Libra 2 running 4.38.23171 and I am able to change the time. WiFi is off.
However, if the timezone is able to be changed, just change timezone to the one you are in. I would hope that would change the time correctly. Last edited by JSWolf; Yesterday at 01:59 PM. |

On my KLC regardless of the WiFi status I can only change timezone; date and time are not selectable
