Exclamation Kindle Paperwhite 11th Gen seemingly bricked?
Hey guys I think I might've messed up. I made an error during jailbreaking which ended in my Kindle updating to the newest version. Afterwards I tried to downgrade my Kindle to 5.14.
When the update completed it tried to restart, but it's permanently stuck on the boot screen saying "Your kindle is restarting."

Am I completely fucked? I can't access it via USB either and holding the power button for 40 seconds does absolutely nothing. Any help?

Then it's a paperweight. You can't "unbrick" that Kindle model without taking out the eMMC and writing firmware directly to it.

You should never try to go backwards on a Kindle. It's too risky.

Try connecting it to the PC and keep holding the power button. It might go into the dev mode with a bunch of debug windows, but chances are low

Are there instructions on this somewhere? I work in a repair shop and have intermediate soldering skills so I might still have a shot

I don’t think soldering helps much, this is about reballing the chip, also using preheating plates

Advanced re-work station. A big step beyond SMD/SMT leaded technology. Also needed is a programming jig for the blank memory chip.
