Any workaround for Kindle Oasis 10th Gen v 5.17.x USB Transfer?

My Kindle Oasis 10th Gen is on version 5.17.1.0.3, which unfortunately is after Amazon ripped away USB transfer - is there any workarounds so I can jailbreak my Kindle?

First step of jailbreaking is transferring files to the root directory, but since Windows doesn't recognize anything plugged in, I can't transfer files via USB.

Winterbreak says it works with the Oasis 10th Gen prior to 5.18.x, but I'm unable to find any way to put the files on my Kindle.

One acquaintance of mine owns and Oasis 3. With firmware 5.18.2, it still connects over USB. What Amazon did remove was the ability to download ebooks to transfer over USB which is an entirely different critter.

I would suggest different USB cables, trying a different port, etc. as that is a more likely location for the issue. If you are using Windows, you might want to try NirSoft's USBDeview and see if is shows any unknown devices (you can also do this from Device Manager but will need to enable Show hidden devices under View.

Sometimes I almost feel embarrassed giving that advice. It's the equivalent of telling people 'Have you tried turning it off and on"? And like that, it works more often than not.

Perhaps instead of doing a translation, you could have suggested that Kobo firmware requests belong in the [URL="https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=355778"]Kobo µSD Card Image Requests/URL] thread.

If an admin wants to delete these three messages, please do so.
