Hi, I'm getting the error on my Kobo Clara BW:

'parse config files: file /mnt/onboard/.adds/nm/config: line 44: parse menu_item: field 4: unknown action 'nickel bluetooth'(src/config.c:522)(src/config.c:271) (src/config.c:936)'

The line in question is

Code:

menu_item : reader : Toggle Bluetooth : nickel_bluetooth : toggle

Did I get the config code wrong?

Make sure that your KCBW firmware version is at least 4.34.20097 otherwise bluetooth is not available.

The Bluetooth support is not in the downloadable version from pgaskin's github repository.

I believe however that https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...postcount=1484 contains the updated version.

Interesting: so there appears to be a NEWER NickleMenu version than 0.5.4 (from 2022), which cannot be obtained from the gpaskin website, while that website DOES have an updated "doc" config document which explains the bluetooth setting.

Question: what is now the current NM version?
Question: where is the NM official website now? (for future versions)

pgaskin's repository is still the official site. That bluetooth support was added by another user and a build done by pgaskin but never flagged as a release; Github stores the results of a build for a period of time as an asset but that has been purged.

Let me get in touch with pgaskin who has been very busy with real life for some time now and see if I can get hime to release an official build.

Ok, thanks for the info. I suspected there was an NM fork of which I was not aware, but it seems that it was an one-off.

considering a new firmware has released, will it have a new version too? I had a few problems with it even before the firmware release, like I would turn dark mode on, and it was working, but it would say dark mode on only, and wound't indicate it as off when I turned it off. is it recommend at all have plato and nickel menu at the same time?

Hi, I’m having trouble installing NickelMenu on my Kobo Libra 2 running the latest software (4.32.19501) and firmware. I’ve followed the steps multiple times, but the NickelMenu tab still doesn’t appear. I’ve searched for solutions everywhere and tried different approaches, but nothing has worked so far. I know it should be simple, but I just can’t get it to show up.

I would disagree that a firmware version released in April, 2022 is the latest firmware. That honour belongs to 4.38.23429.
