What happened to The Digital Reader?

I was looking for an old review of some hardware, and stumbled on Digital Reader again. It used to be a good site for e-ink news and other tech. Site is unrecognisable now. A plethora of, what appears to be, AI written articles on dinosaurs and quotes, using AI images.

As far as I know, back in mid-2022, The Digital Reader was taken over by another company. Quite a bit of Nate Hoffelder's content is still there if you search the site but the content since the takeover wasn't my cuppa so I haven't paid much attention to it.

The Digital Reader now looks like a site for kids that has nothing to do with digital reading.
