Does "malformed disk image" mean the Kobo or Calibre?

I am getting this message when I attempt to hook my Kobo Libra Colour up to my MacBook:

calibre, version 8.10.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

CorruptError: database disk image is malformed

Traceback (most recent call last):

apsw.CorruptError: CorruptError: database disk image is malformed

Is it saying my Kobo is broken, or my Calibre app is broken? I looked up "malformed disk image" in the Calibre user manual and there were references to malformed HTML but not this. Does anyone know what this message means?

It also lost the last several uploads of books, including the one I was in the middle of reading. I never had this problem with my Kindles. I'm getting so tired of dealing with this Kobo. About once every few months it burps and blows up and loses everything. I don't want to support Amazon but I sure wish I could find an eReader that was actually stable. :/

Thank you! I missed that in the manual, I was looking for "Libra Colour" or "disk error" any part of the text of the error. The logging out and back in seems to have worked.

Use the Kobo Utilities plugin to back your database when you connect to calibre.
