Hi All,

I've purchased a few Kindles recently, such as the PW12, Scribe24, CS24, and now, a 2019 Oasis that is on firmware 15.7.1.

I've successfully jailbroken the first 3 with the first try. I had a problem with KUAL on the CS, but someone here pointed me to a different file that fixed that problem.

However, the Oasis won't accept the jailbreak. I've followed all instructions, including all of the suggestions here and on Reddit, but Mosquito will not appear in place of the "Unexpected Error" message, or the Storefront just loads as normal.

I've replaced the sandbox folder, rebooted, and tried again approximately 60-70 times over the past two days, and nothing changes. I've also factory reset 6 times so far, which is extremely tedious. All of the Troubleshooting options on kindlemodding were followed as well.

Is there some sort of trick for getting the Oasis to jailbreak? Or do I just keep repeating deleting the sandbox folder and adding it back and rebooting until it finally works?

I jailbroke my kindle some months ago and everything had been working properly will now, but all of a sudden my Kindle has gotten stuck on the Kindle logo screen with the Tree and Boy image.
I have tried restarting it many times by holding power button for 40 seconds, and I have also tried draining the battery completely, nothing seems to work, and I am unable to see the Kindle when I connect it to my PC as well.

What else can I try to fix my Kindle?

Not sure if this is worth highlighting or not but on the Model Lookup page (https://kindlemodding.org/jailbreaki...le-models.html) it shows the Paperwhite 10th Gen (PW4) with latest firmware of 5.10.0.2.

But my device recently auto updated to 5.18.1
(unfortunately I can't therefore do the jailbreak).

I don't seem to be able to get this to work.

I have an Oasis 3, on 5.16.3. I can get the winterbreak script to start, but only the first line is run (this is confirmed in the log file).

Note I don't get any error messages. I've tried running it several times, both with airplane mode on and with wifi connected.

Hi, I jailbroke a kindle paperwhite 12 (5.17.1.0.4), but I cannot install kual. When I launch ";log mrpi" it shows the white screen, but then it return to library and there is no kual. I tried to empty 100 MB, but nothing changed. I tried both with the one downloaded from the guide ("Update_KUALBooklet_HDRepack.bin") than with the one downloaded from here ("Update_KUALBooklet_f190a38_install.bin" and "Update_KUALBooklet_hotfix_f190a38_install.bin "). Do you have some ideas?

If you place the Update_KUALBooklet_HDRepack.bin file in the root of your Kindle, does it show an update is available when you go to Settings => Update your Kindle?

I have word for word the same issue as this person, and tried the same things, also word for word. Exception in my case: I have a Colorsoft 5.18.0.2. Adding Update_KUALBooklet_HDRepack.bin to root as suggested by DNSB did not work for me. Otherwise, I followed the guide closely.
Someone in the Kindle Modding Community discord who has the same exact Kindle Colorsoft as I do and has the same exact issue knows how to SSH into their kindle and found this in the Koreader launcher error log:

././luajit: frontend/device/kindle/device.lua:1972: unknown Kindle model: GR7455

Is it possible that koreader fails to install if it doesn't have knowledge of a particular device and firmware combination, with perhaps Colorsoft 5.18.0.2 being one of those? This issue might belong as a reported bug in the luajit github or the Koreader github, but thought I'd shoot my shot here in case anybody knows something.

Please open a new issue on KOReader GitHub and include the crash.log. There is 99% chance that this new device model can just be added easily.

Hi I've been having issue to get it to work i have fw 5.16.2.1.1 on the Kindel PW3 and I've tried everything to get it to work several different things from this Github thread (https://github.com/KindleModding/WinterBreak/issues/10) fully followed the guide on kindel modding but i just get the normal kindel store when trying to open it..... and Yes i moved the hidden folders.

i would be very thankful for some guidance idk what to do anymore :c
