What I do is setup my list to add a Tag when a book is added to the list. You could have a different tag name for each list. I can’t remember off top of head if I allow a custom tags column to be used rather than the default calibre one, I “assume” I did. Personally I only have two lists so having my extra “Pending” tag for books on my “Add to Kindle” list that turns into a “Kindle” tag when synced I’m fine with being in the calibre tags column which is always visible in my views etc.

I have a custom column for Reading List, set up with a type of "comma separated text, like tags, shown in the Tag browser." Then, when I create a list, under the Column Update Options I have:
  • When changing this list: Update column for add or remove
  • Column to update: [custom column name selected from dropdown]
  • Value in column to add/remove: [name of list]
It works well, and I can select lists in the tags browser as well as in the Reading List plugin menu, depending on which is more convenient for the part of my workflow I'm in at the time.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using the Reading List plugin for a while now and really like how it helps me organize my books.

One thing I was wondering: is there any way to hide or disable the badge/overlay that appears on book covers in the cover grid / cover browser when a book is on a reading list?

I looked through the plugin settings but didn’t find an option for this. Maybe I missed something? Or perhaps this could be added as a feature request in the future?

Has anyone else tried to achieve this or found a workaround?

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know if it is possible to apply a custom column coloring only if a particular reading list is active?

Yes you can. You can setup a custom Y/N column and use that to define the coloring.

Here is what I do to mark what eBooks are on my Libra 2.
