ComfortLightPRO (Natural Light) Auto switch
Just switched from kindle to Kobo Clara BW (after all my side loaded books gone) and so far my experience is very nice.
Can someone explain me how Natural light Auto switch works? I've read "Learn More" section there and even asked AI, but still can't compare that with what I see. In my case at night time I can see that Natural Light intencity can jump back and forth based on the room light conditions. But AI says that reader has no sensor and all is based on daytime cycle. Something similar you can read in that "Learn More" doc. Also I noticed that my Brightness level can also be increased/decreased, as usual I keep it 30% but can see 28% and even less. Is Auto switch responsible for this and what kind of sensor this device has? |

If you have the Natural Light set to auto, the colour of the frontlight will vary by the time of day. If you have the time zone set properly, it works fairly well. If you notice the light level varying while you are reading, you may have the Swipe left side to adjust brightness setting enabled (More => Settings => Reading settings). Some people love it, I prefer to keep it off. It makes it to easy to slide your finger along the left edge of the screen and change the brightness. |

I thought also about that "swipe on left side" to control brightness level, disabled it like you suggested, thanks! |

The natural light automatic color shifting happens every half hour, on the :30 and :00. I have 'bedtime' set to 10 PM, and I know I still see a color shift at 10:30 PM (which is a nice reminder to close the book at the end of the next chapter). I think it starts shifting at 8:30 or 9. I wish this was better documented. I don't think it adjusts brightness, just temperature.
