In case anyone else comes along and finds this, to install the devcerts on (at least) a K5/Touch, I followed the directions in this post: Quote:

Has anyone managed to fix this on a KT5?
I tried installing the DevCerts update and replacing the KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2, but I still get the error message, including when trying to access JBPatch. I then reinstalled the jailbreak, installed the DevCerts update, and replaced the KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2, and the error still appears. Finally, I performed a factory reset, installed the jailbreak, installed the new devcerts, the Mobileread Kindlet Kit, MRPI, and the new Kual file, and I still get the error. |

Don't use azw2 file, install KUAL bin installer using MRPI.

@maxwell1755 You use it / run in / start it (MRPI) directly via ;log mrpi search-bar command that was injected / defined when you installed the hotfix.
That's the alternative way of runing MRPI script and that's what's being used to install KUAL itself. It does look somewhat confusing and counter-intuitive ![]() |

TLDR if you are on PW2 5.12.2.2, install KUAL by command
Code:
;log mrpi if you are on PW2 5.12.2.2 like me, after Jailbreaking, the KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2 is still not working and giving this error "This device is not authorized as a test Kindle by the developer of this item". Turns out that I can install .bin by the MRPI although the "install update" is greyed out on 5.12.2.2. put Update_KUALBooklet_v2.7.37_install.bin under the /mrpackages folder, and then run Code:
;log mrpi It resolved the issue for me. |

Hi, I'm trying to write a custom extension to use my old PW3 as a dashboard, but I'm having some trouble with stopping the framework.
I've got some very minimal code at the moment: Code:
#!/bin/sh DIR="$(dirname "$0")" LOG="$DIR/log.txt" echo "Stopping lab126_gui" >> "$LOG" initctl stop lab126_gui >> "$LOG" echo "Stopped lab126_gui" >> "$LOG" Note that I am able to launch Koreader and kterm. I also don't know if it's related, but I also keep getting log files in my library about, "Mismatches between cc.db entries and storage" Any help is appreciated, thanks! Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to ask:
I've followed the main guides to install Winterbreak and the Hotfix on my Paperwhite 6th Edition; then did try to install KUAL several times now on my both via hotfix as well as via MRPI. Both seems to work fine up to a point; especially with MRPI, I get all the icons after executing `;log mrpi`; it does notably more than running it without copying the KUAL_..._install.bin to `/mrpackages` beforehand. It shows messages regarding the KUALbooklet.sh and even even flashes the SUCCESS message on me before restarting the UI! However, there is NO KUAL booklet available on my device. I tried searching, I tried recents, I tried local (i.e. downloaded) library files only, I tried all library files, I looked through each page; NOTHING. I also tried the install in both airplane mode and connected; there doesn't seem to be a difference. The only thing that changes is that my `/mrpackages` is empty directly after. My Kindle drive shows the winterbreak.log, the hotfix book is still available; for what it's worth it looks like I didn't mess up the previous steps. The device also has 570MB free space left; which should hopefully be fine? I've also tried running the KUAL Uninstaller and installing again; which also gives me a SUCCESS message -- with pretty much the same result though. If anyone can point me to anything I could have messed up or double-check, I'd be awfully glad. |

Need KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 (old version) for Kindle 4 NT
Hello,
I own a Kindle 4 NT (non-touch, firmware 4.1.3). My device is jailbroken and MKK is installed successfully (the “You are Jailbroken” book appears, and the /developer folder is present). However, whenever I try to run KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 extracted from the recent KUAL snapshots (v2.7 tar.xz), I still get the message “this content is not signed by an authorized developer”. From what I’ve read here, I believe I need the older KUAL v1.x package (the small .azw2, ~60–80 KB) that was originally made for Kindle 3/4. Could someone please share a direct link to KUAL-v1.0.zip or KUAL-v1.1.zip, or re-upload the proper KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 that works on K4 NT? Thank you very much for keeping these devices alive! |

Still getting "The title is not signed by a registered developer"
Hi. I have a Kindle 2 (k2i) and I can´t launch KUAL.
After factory reset, I installed the jailbreak, mkk, updated certificates and copied KUAL 1.0 to documents. It appears on the books list, but its still showing the not signed message. Anyone with this model that can help? Thanks |
