network connecting screen

hi all,

i just had a quick question. i recently set up sync via the plugin on a home server. I would like it to sync automatically, but every time the ereader is turned on, it has to connect to wifi. this is fine, but the ribbon that shows up on the screen that says 'searching networks.. connecting.. connected' or the like is a little annoying to me. is it possible to disable this message so i can have control of my ereader while its connecting to wifi and fetching the latest state, and then have it display whether or not i want to sync after its ready? or do i have to wait for it to finish thinking every time? thanks for the help
