Question Kobo Touch N905 SD upgrade

Hi, a friend of mine asked me to fix his old Kobo Touch (N905-KDN-L) - dead SD, so gotta change it.
Which specs should the replacement have (size, class etc)? I read that it does not support more than 32GB but that > 8GB is buggy, is it true?

Also there are 3 versions of Kobo Touch.

There is a thread about SD cards speed and size for Kobos.

The thread applies to virtually all Kobo ereaders with internal µSD cards.

As for distinguishing the 905 from the 905B and 905C. The 905 does not have an internal µSD card. The B &C have their designation on the edge of the case though in one recent example, the printing was pretty much worn off the case.

Thanks, the instructions are clear, a 32GB/10class should be safe.
Regarding the identification, it has a SD so it is either a 905B or a 905C, but the printing has faded, are there any other marking to tell B and C apart? Worst case, what would happen if I use the wrong firmware? Would it brick the device or would I just need to use the other one?

You would just need to try the other image since it is unlikely that you would cause hardware damage. I would suggest either a SanDisk or a Samsung µSD card since in my testing, they consistently have the best small block results. And almost all the read/write operations on an ereader are small block.
