Unfortunately, I found that due to this change:

https://github.com/qt/qtbase/commit/...e0deac5aad3767

which shows an incompatible change in QSysInfo in the machineUniqueId() routine (where your crashes are happening).

Which lead me to the following discovery:

The minimum macOS version supported by Qt 6.8.0 is macOS 12 (Monterey). This applies to both Intel and Apple silicon (ARM) architectures.

So Sigil 2.6.0 will not work on MacOS 11 because of the Qt library it uses.

I will change our docs and builds to reflect that.

The latest version of Sigil that uses Qt 6.7.2 is Sigil 2.4.2 which should work on your machine.

I have now pushed to master the changes that document and enforce the use of Mac OS 12 as the new minimum since that is required by Qt for 6.8.0 and later.
