Issue in LAYOUT - Cover Grid Book Covers are missing
Hi,
I have Calibre Portable Version Installed in WINDOWS & due to last month update, by mistake my Antivirus Kaspersky was ON, due to which after the update, when Calibre Portable Restarted, my Book Covers got DISAPPEARED in LAYOUT - COVER GRID View? Book covers are available in Calibre Library in Induvial Books folder, but not showing in Calibre COVER GRID View. Latest Version of Calbre got Updated today, but still issue exist. Please help to get this issue resolved, screenshot attached below for reference. |

Hye CHALEY,
Sorry for late Reply, I lost my credentials. I have tried this fix today, as well as thois FIX as well...its not working for me.... "When calibre is not running, delete the cache folder AppData/Local/calibre-cache/gui-thumbnail-cache" Please help to resolve this issue |

Ahh, you are running calibre portable. Delete "Calibre Settings\caches" in wherever you installed calibre portable.
You might also want to update calibre. Version 7.7 is quite old. |

Well, I'm out of ideas other than you check that the covers are JPG files. Perhaps someone else can help.

Update to the current calibre version which is 8.8 not 7.7 then run calibre in debug mode and post the log by right cicking the preferences button and choosing restart in debug mode.

Look at that log its full of permission errors on the thumbnail cache directory. Fix those permissions or delete that directory and it will be re-created hopefully without permission problems. See https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...n-denied-error

Thanks Kovid & Chaley for all your quick support.....Finally it got resolved
![]() Actually, what I did before as per Chaley's post recommendation I have only deleted the CACHE Files inside the Directory calibrePortable\Calibre Settings\caches\gui-thumbnail-cache* & it was empty folder till now, later after Kovid's msg I Deleted the whole folder & it got recreated ...which indeed brought all the thumbnails back. ![]() Please find the updated Debug logs attached below One Issue I always face, whenever new update comes for Calibre & I try to install the Portable update in the specific folder....my KASPERSKY Antivirus try to block this, I need keep Kaspersky in PAUSE mode & then do the update....why this happens |
