Are you trying to remove NickelMenu or do you want the menu restored? If you want to uninstall NickelMenu, create a file called uninstall (case-sensitive!) in the .adds/nm directory (create the directories if needed) and reboot your Kobo.

The initial NickelMenu proof-of-concept took about 8 hours from when I had the idea, and the initial release took a few hours of work per day for a week.

The main problem is that to even get to compiling NickelMenu, we'll need to do all the toolchain work again (this is the tedious and time-consuming part), and I'll need to update NickelHook's build system to generate the new firmware packages. Also, if I don't get around to updating kobopatch by then, it'll be slightly more difficult to develop NickelMenu, as I made use of parts of it during development.

Help! I had to do a complete reset of my Kobo Libra Colour, and I'm trying to install NickelMenu again. I downloaded the installation file from this page, but it downloads a file named KoboRoot.tar, not KoboRoot.tgz. I renamed that file to KoboRoot.tgz and copied it to the .kobo folder on my device. When I eject the device, it says "updating" and reboots like it is updating, but then once it is done, I am not seeing the NickelMenu menu in the bottom right corner. What am I doing wrong?

Anyone know of a nickelmenu adjacent method to limiting the charge capacity of the kpbo battery? I want to limit mine to only charge to 80% since that's better for battery service life. It's worth it to me given the efficiency of the device.

No, it isn't possible to limit the charge that way. You can only unplug the charger early (which is what I do).

I'm reaching out to you because there's a task I can't seem to do on nickelmenu.

I have a Libra 2 with a Logitech r500, and I need to use kobo-libra2-uhid-module.

I can activate this module with nickelmenu, but I'd like to activate Bluetooth at the same time.

In my configuration, I have:

Does anyone know how to merge the two “menu_item” so that all these commands are launched at once?

I feel like a complete ass but I can't figure this out.

I installed Nickel Menu & can see it in the bottom right corner, but there's no Menu Items. No matter what I put into the KOBOeReader/.adds/nm/config file, I get no Menu Items

I"m sure I"m missing some simple step, but I can't figure it out.....

Can somebody post a simple config file that I can cut & paste

When NickelMenu is installed, the only item in the nm directory is doc. All items in that file are commented out. You need to create your own configuration file using the information in doc and from elsewhere.
