PRS-T1 frozen "opening book"

Hi,
liked I said in the presentation thread on the forum, I have trouble with my old PRS-T1 reader.
She is frozn with Opening book, each time I power it on.

Of course I try, reset action, reset and power action in same time.

I've found this lingk during my google search.

https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/PRS...ing_and_Tweaks

and found this section:

If your reader does not start up properly any more or is irresponsive and completey stuck, this is, what you can try.
It will take a micro-SD card and access to it from your computer.

Make sure, the battery is charged well (if you are in doubt, give it a full charge)
Shut down the reader completely (not only sleep mode). If you can't do this by normal means, press RESET + POWER and hold a few seconds. The reader should freeze and not respond any more.
Download Porkupan's SD rescue package for 1.01/1.02/1.03 firmware or uboot's SD rescue package for 1.04 firmware (Archived version from the Internet Archive). Copy the folder "OS Firmware" to the root directory of your micro SD card and insert the card into the reader.
Press and hold HOME and MENU before pressing POWER on the Reader and keep HOME and MENU pressed (this is crucial!)
Wait until the progress bar in the “Opening book" page has reached the right side (about 20 seconds). The message will change to “Updating”. Release buttons. From now on there should be no more visible activity except for the constant blinking of the orange light (within the power button).
If the reader does not restart properly after 10-15 minutes by itself (but the progress bar became again and LED of micro sd slot does not flash anymore), press RESET, then POWER.
Reader should now ask for initial settings. Also there should be a file on the internal sd named diag.log, that tells if rescue did complete.

but in my case ( I don't know my actual firmaware) the sdcard never stop of blinking, at least with power failure after few hours...

I have tried with the both firmaware rescue.

right now each time I start the reader, it freez.

and when it is connected to my laptop , it tries every 30 sec to restart and froze again.

Is there any solution, to reload the sony software like windows ISO, or any other solution to fix my trouble.

Thanks for you futur answers...

There are no alternate firmware installs for the T1 that I would install.

The T1 being old and slow has some issues. One thing you need to make sure of is that the ePub you send to it is error free. Also, you need to make sure that hi-res images are not hi-res. If the images are too large, they can cause a slowdown, lock, or crash.

Try plugging the T1 into the computer. If you can see the T1 on the computer, copy all of the ebooks. Then delete them off of the T1. It could be a problem with that ebook it's trying to open. If the ebook that's the T1 is trying to open is. On an SD card, remove the SD card. In fact, if there is an SD card, just remove it for now.

Try a different USB cable, different USB port, different computer, and maybe a different OS such as Linux. You can create a bootable Linux on a USB stick and boot that and then try to plug in the T1 to see if you see it.

If when you do plug in the T1 and you do see it before it reboots, try to delete this ePub that keeps trying to get loaded if you can.

If none of this works, you can try one last thing. Go the the following thread and download the bootable sad card image and see if that allows you to get your T1 up and running. If not I'm out of ideas and you'll need a new Reader.

Hello

thanks for your answer
the trouble started just after a night pause reading, not after added a new book.
all books were and the SD card, I removed it.
still trouble.

right now, not able to see the T1 with few computers, few cables too (I tried before coming on the forum)...not try with my only linux computer.

sorry but when you wrote :
Go the the following thread and download the bootable sad card image

which thread ?

this one ?
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=175101

and if yes, I've already used the wiki link with SD car, and it never worked that is why I'm here to find solution.

I think so that my daughter will have a new reader (it is her, it is my old one, she used some times, like she reads paper books normally)

Sorry about leaving out the URL. Read the first post and then the link is in the second post. I cannot say if this will help or not. If not, it's time for a new Reader.
