We are actually quote close to the Eno, but in an upward direction. I checked when we bought the place - 300 ft higher in elevation than the house we had in Chapel Hill 10 miles from here. We did have a lot of roads out and had to boil water for a week, but comparatively, unscathed.

We had two wonderfully gorgeous weather days on Tuesday and Wednesday (7/22 and 7/23). Thursday it was warmer, up to 84 with 60% humidity. Today it will be very hot with warnings posted about it. The high temp will be 94 and there may be thunderstorm(s). I never know about the forecasts for T-storms, because it often doesn't happen.
The last big storm was on Monday evening, 7/14. We were out in the heavy rain while walking to a restaurant in midtown, but the worst of the storm occurred while we were in the restaurant and I didn't hear it. I got the subway home after 11:30 with no problems, but after I got home I learned that there had been subway floods on the #1 line, particularly at the 28th Street station. Our current temp is 78° F. at 1:30 AM Friday. |

Still typical Dutch summer weather: 22℃, mostly cloudy, breezy and with a chance of rain showers throughout the day.
My sister and I have booked a cherry themed high tea at our favourite cherry orchard. It starts at 3 pm, and the current prediction is that it's going to rain around that time. Hopefully their wrong. |

Sunday was seasonable. The high temperature for the day was 86°, we had sun & clouds, not much of a breeze, and it was very humid. Several thunderstorms moved through the area from northwest to southeast -- all but one managed to skirt past us.
Monday is supposed to be much hotter, kicking off another heat wave. The humidity should make it feel hotter than 100° through Thursday. |

Conditions in N.S. are very bad, drought, complete fire ban until October. Don't think its rained in weeks.
Worried about wildfires. Also worried that any rain that does come it'll come all at once and make a flood. Happened a year or two ago. |

Rainy and only 17℃, with a high of 20℃ later today.
I'm waiting for it to rain less hard so I can go to the supermarket to get lunch for today. After that it'll be a Lego day today. Yesterday was okay; in the morning it was intermittently cloudy, but the temperature was just right so sit in the garden and read my book. Later in the afternoon and into the evening there were some showers. Saturday and Sunday look to be similar to today: rain showers, possible thunderstorms, windy and 20℃ to 22℃. |

Rain's been pissing down for days, and it's cold. Had to close a couple of windows, they're normally open 24*7 365 days.

We had our heat wave through Wednesday, with temperatures in the high 90s -- and the humidity made it feel like 110°F. The cold front moved through on Thursday, dropping the temperatures by about 20° in a few minutes, and also dropping several (more) inches of rain in the span of a couple of hours.
Today was beautiful. The high was 74°, it was very sunny, and we had a light breeze. It was still pretty humid (and the ground is fully saturated, which doesn't help) but it was still a very comfortable day. |

I actually shivered this morning when I refilled the bird feeder - it was 68 F - still drizzling and humid - but heat wave has broken ... for now ...
