I have similar problems with my dentist. She thought it was absolutely hilarious when I told her that I'd have to wait a few extra weeks to save up the money to pay for the next appointment.

I think people in certain professions forget that not everyone makes as much money as they do.

i agree and this really drives me crazy. once a lawyer explained to me that even for a very simple procedure which only involved her putting a name on a standard document with no modifications and no appearance before a judge, she "had" to charge 10 000 F (more than 1500 €), because, you understand, she "had to prepare her retirement".

We are suing a former employer for severance pay. We just got our first invoice from our lawyer. WOW!! We won't be sending any more emails asking for an update of the proceedings.
