We are actually quote close to the Eno, but in an upward direction. I checked when we bought the place - 300 ft higher in elevation than the house we had in Chapel Hill 10 miles from here. We did have a lot of roads out and had to boil water for a week, but comparatively, unscathed.

We had two wonderfully gorgeous weather days on Tuesday and Wednesday (7/22 and 7/23). Thursday it was warmer, up to 84 with 60% humidity. Today it will be very hot with warnings posted about it. The high temp will be 94 and there may be thunderstorm(s). I never know about the forecasts for T-storms, because it often doesn't happen.
The last big storm was on Monday evening, 7/14. We were out in the heavy rain while walking to a restaurant in midtown, but the worst of the storm occurred while we were in the restaurant and I didn't hear it. I got the subway home after 11:30 with no problems, but after I got home I learned that there had been subway floods on the #1 line, particularly at the 28th Street station. Our current temp is 78° F. at 1:30 AM Friday. |

Still typical Dutch summer weather: 22℃, mostly cloudy, breezy and with a chance of rain showers throughout the day.
My sister and I have booked a cherry themed high tea at our favourite cherry orchard. It starts at 3 pm, and the current prediction is that it's going to rain around that time. Hopefully their wrong. |

Sunday was seasonable. The high temperature for the day was 86°, we had sun & clouds, not much of a breeze, and it was very humid. Several thunderstorms moved through the area from northwest to southeast -- all but one managed to skirt past us.
Monday is supposed to be much hotter, kicking off another heat wave. The humidity should make it feel hotter than 100° through Thursday. |
