Generate default cover when adding book to library

Is there any way to automatically use/run the edit metadata function to generate a default cover when adding a book to Calibre?

Might be able to do it with an Action Chain.

An "If no cover, generate one" option would be a useful addition to Adding Books Preferences.

You can Generate it without going to Metadata Edit, viz:

No but you can generate them in bulk after adding by slecting all of them and usingthe bulk metadata edit dialog.

Thanks I was able to create an action chain using the action chain plugin to do exactly this! thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!
