Is there any way to automatically use/run the edit metadata function to generate a default cover when adding a book to Calibre? thanks |

Might be able to do it with an Action Chain. An "If no cover, generate one" option would be a useful addition to Adding Books Preferences. You can Generate it without going to Metadata Edit, viz: BR Last edited by BetterRed; 07-19-2025 at 07:25 PM. Reason: clarity |

No but you can generate them in bulk after adding by slecting all of them and usingthe bulk metadata edit dialog.
