Yeah, the Kindle is basically a book replacement, it's not a general computing device or even a general media consumer. Sound output is restricted to Audible books and screen-reading. All app support (and it was very limited) was removed some years ago.
This is absolutely the wrong device for your intended use case unless your intended use case is reading. |

It's like a DVD player that connects to a TV. Not like a laptop that has a DVD drive.
