I try not to, but I read a lot of Indie authors and they're all Amazon exclusive due to Kindle Unlimited deals. Most of them I just read in KU (do not download) but I do still buy a few.

Oddly, I haven;'t found any issues with Sats method but then the batch file I use opens K4PC, I download the files and then continue in the batch file to create the keyfile.

I've been doing the same but manually: download book, open/close book, continue the process. I should probably get that error posted to the Github discussion for possible troubleshooting, but it doesn't bother me that much as this is a secondary method.

K4PC is dead simple for me. I just say Add books in calibre, navigate to K4PC download folder (pinned in Windows Explorer), and select the (usually) .azw file. I do not use it enough to create a batch file, mostly just check to make sure it still is working.

What version of K4PC? And this works for books published after April 22?

Collections
Once upon a time there was Calibre support for Kindle Collections. And then there wasn't. Is this some inherent problem which will never be solved. Collections are far from a great tool, but could provide useful information if supported.

Oh well ... Collections could use some help, but I guess not this way.

Amazon has definitely already responded to Sats' method by not allowing Kindle for PC to download the tougher DRM books any more. Not saying they won't do more, but short of getting rid of Kindle for PC altogether I'm not sure what.

Yes, I agree. B&N dropped their desktop programs years ago. Not many probably use Kindle for PC to actually read books. Most people undoubtedly use the mobile apps.
