Then you're in the wrong place, this is for old, old, old devices. Which answers the question of why you can't install it: because you can't ;p.

I`m running Kindle DX 2.5.8 JB, MKK, KUAL, KoReader all works great ( updated date yaaay ) but when exiting KUAL I have to reinstall MKK again for some reason. after exiting KUAL 2024.11 ( legacy ) the TEST KINDLE INSTALLATION RESULT document appears and MKK devCert must be installed again to be able to enter KUAL just to add this device is not and has not been and will not be registered in the meantime followed this guide to register device ( registration worked ! ) https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=87336 registering device fixed the issue Last edited by vendo232; 12-18-2024 at 10:53 PM. |

Hiya, visitor here with a secondhand K4B (B023) running version 4.1.4 (3543630001.) It wasn't registered, still isn't, and airplane mode is on as I'm not using it for anything network related. KUAL didn't open due to unauthorized developer error. The jailbreak seemed fine (custom screensavers work) but just reinstalling MKK didn't work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled in order:
jailbreak files (kindle-k4-jailbreak-1.8.N) MKK (Update_mkk-20141129-k4-ALL_install.bin) KUAL (KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2) For the first two I ran the corresponding uninstall.bin file as an update before installing normally (and just deleted and repasted the KUAL file.) The same error shows. There are no stray bin files, only various folders and 2 .calibre files floating around. If relevant, all install files were unzipped with Archive Utility. Was something overlooked or do I do the same process a third time? |

You can fix that by installing the DevCerts update from here:

Thanks for the update, I definitely would have missed it skimming over the thread!
There is some progress as KUAL states that MKK isn't installed instead. Before I reinstall it, should I use the uninstall file from the previous devcert folder or just run it again? Last edited by gizmologist; 07-01-2025 at 05:06 PM. |
