Forgot to mention that Mr. Penumbra was originally a short story, if you need convincing.
The author thinks the book is better, though.

Diane Duane has a sale on her personal bundle of everything at her site Ebooks.Direct. Look in the bundle area, for the Whole Store Bundle.

https://ebooks.direct/products/ebook...e-store-bundle

This includes almost everything she has written except all of her tie-in stories, which were probably all works for hire. (She has a bunch of Star Trek novels, and a couple of other IP tie-ins.

The current list looks like it has 32 books plus a couple of short stories for $39.99. All books are DRM free and can be downloaded in several formats.

Note that they say they can't sell to Great Britain and Northern Ireland, due to Brexit problems.

(edit fixed typo)

Terry Pratchett - Discworld
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TYGGG76...rwt_sb_pc_tkin

I noticed a number of the Discworld novels listed at $.99 - $1.99
Might be of interest to those who passed on the Pratchett Humble Bundle.

I think I know what's happening. When I checked the link of Discworld novels I got the same prices as you did. I also checked it from a browser connected to a VPN with an endpoint in Chicago, IL. Also the same prices. Then I switched to endpoints in a few different countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK), but only got those exact same prices when checking from the UK.

It appears that Jon checked from the UK and assumed those prices applied to people in the US.

Pet and its prequel Bitter by Akwaeke Emezi are £1 each in the UK.
Pet by Akwaeke Emezi is £1 in the UK (Kobo, Amazon)
Quote:
How do you save the world from monsters if no one will admit they exist?

She stumbled backwards, her eyes wide, as the figure started coming out of the canvas
...
She tried to be brave. Well, she said, her hands only a little shaky, at least tell me what I should call you.
...
Well, little girl, it replied, I suppose you can call me Pet.

There are no more monsters anymore, or so the children in the city of Lucille are taught. With doting parents and a best friend named Redemption, Jam has grown up with this lesson all her life. But when she meets Pet, a creature made of horns and colours and claws, who emerges from one of her mother's paintings and a drop of Jam's blood, she must reconsider what she's been told. Pet has come to hunt a monster, and the shadow of something grim lurks in Redemption's house. Jam must fight not only to protect her best friend, but also to uncover the truth.

In their riveting and timely young adult debut, acclaimed novelist Akwaeke Emezi asks difficult questions about what choices a young person can make when the adults around them are in denial.
Bitter by Akwaeke Emezi is £1 in the UK (Kobo, Amazon)
Quote:
From the critically acclaimed author of Pet and The Death of Vivek Oji, Bitter, a companion novel to Pet, takes a timely and riveting look at the power of youth, protest and art.

Bitter is thrilled to have been chosen to attend Eucalyptus, a special school where she can focus on her painting surrounded by other creative teens. But outside this haven, the streets are filled with protests against the deep injustices that grip the town of Lucille.

Bitter's instinct is to stay safe within the walls of Eucalyptus . . . but her friends aren't willing to settle for a world that the adults say is "just the way things are." Pulled between old friendships, her creative passion, and a new a romance, Bitter isn't sure where she belongs - in the art studio or in the streets. And if she does find a way to help the revolution while being true to who she is, she must also ask: at what cost?
In Universes by Emet North is $2 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Also on sale in the UK (Amazon only ATM)
Quote:
For fans of Emily St. John Mandel and Kelly Link, a profoundly imaginative debut novel set in numerous universes, which follows a queer physicist’s search for belonging across time and space.

Raffi works in an observational cosmology lab, searching for dark matter and trying to hide how little they understand their own research. Every chance they get, they escape to see Britt, a queer sculptor who fascinates them for reasons they also can’t—or won’t—understand. As Raffi’s carefully constructed life begins to collapse, they become increasingly fixated on the multiverse and the idea that somewhere, there may be a universe where they mean as much to Britt as Britt does to them . . . and just like that, Raffi and Britt are thirteen years old, on the cusp of friendship, and maybe something more.

A meditation on self-destruction and reconstruction, In Universes is a mind-bending tour across parallel worlds, each an answer to the question of what Raffi’s life would be like if theyhad made slightly different choices. The universes grow increasingly strange as Raffi flees the ever-present specter of guilt: women fracture into hordes of animals; alien-possessed bears prowl apocalyptic landscapes. But across worlds, Raffi—with their sometimes-friends, sometimes-lovers Britt, Kay, and Graham—reaches for a life that feels authentically their own.

Blending realism with science fiction, In Universes explores the thirst for genius, the fluidity of gender and identity, and the pull of despair against the desire to lead a meaningful life, insisting on the transgressive power of hope even in the darkest of times.
Echoes by edited Ellen Datlow is $2 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Cross-posted to Horror.

The problem was that I wasn't logged into Amazon. Now that I am, I do see the correct prices.
