BTW, I am not disputing the amount of useless text for the 5 star reviews. A total waste of electrons.

Related: A series that you have been reading for years has a reboot that makes everything you previously read invalid. Not an updated version of an previous series (like Battlestar Galactica), but the series hasn't ended and suddenly everything has changed.

Or the main character suddenly has a completely different sexual orientation in the 6th (or whatever book).

Or the last book has a crazy rushed ending (the Character is suddenly a god and makes everything OK, or it was all a dream, or a robot had been manipulating everything from the start - Asimov 30 years later Foundation Series retcon & zeroth law).

Or the alien technology turns out to be magic in the last book.

Or the magic turns out to be forgotten genetic engineering or etc in a much later book. (Pern, Shannara)

Or (sorry if I post about for the second time: didn't posted the full explanation before) the author suffered a controversy, on copyrights from a videogame he also made, inspiring it by his previous work that was that book - so the rights of it would had been not clear and the book, which seems to have a fan made translation and a professional one, is still not being sold...
