But, but, but!

It has all those unsolicited five-star reviews from people who have nothing whatsoever to do with the author! Doesn't that count for anything?

Long ago, a bookshop was born – the beating heart of all those who find hope within the pages of a book. With the words penned upon the echo of old forests, new worlds are created.

It’s ready and waiting to welcome all those who know where to find it…

Strangers Jo, Adelaide and Kye are the least likely people to find themselves across the threshold of a bookshop.

But as their midnight book club shows them that a single book can change everything, all three realise that their own stories can be rewritten.
Though I am wondering where you got that munged into a single block text from? Neither Kobo, Amazon CA, Google Play, Apple, Harper Collins or One More Chapter format the description in quite the way you showed. The images from Kobo and Amazon are a pretty close match to the others other than bold and/or italic here and there.

BTW, I am not disputing the amount of useless text for the 5 star reviews. A total waste of electrons.

Finding out that a series you have been reading for close to a decade will not be finished since the last book did not sell well enough.

It came from an Overdrive listing. And yes, it was all squashed together.

You don't choose the book. The book chooses you... 'A book I was sorry to finish.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'A timeless story that emphasizes the healing and transformative power of books.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Long ago, a bookshop was born – the beating heart of all those who find hope within the pages of a book. With the words penned upon the echo of old forests, new worlds are created. It's ready and waiting to welcome all those who know where to find it... Strangers Jo, Adelaide and Kye are the least likely people to find themselves across the threshold of a bookshop. But as their midnight book club shows them that a single book can change everything, all three realise that their own stories can be rewritten. – Readers love The Midnight Bookshop... 'This was an emotional and heartfelt read and had me invested from the start.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'A thoroughly uplifting enjoyable read that will certainly leave you feeling better with the world. Amanda James always seems to write intriguing, sensitive books with that touch of magic and The Midnight Bookshop is no exception.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'To appreciate the book fully you have to leave any preconceived ideas at the first page and open up you mind to a magical world.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'This is quite an intriguing and magical story of fantasy and realism [and] in many ways, is a complex novel about relationships and Amanda James successfully weaves magic with realism to create a potent tale in an unforgettable way.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'The book underscores the importance of community and self-reflection, especially in a time when many people feel isolated or overwhelmed.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'This book had me rooting for all three of them and didn't disappoint.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ '[Amanda James'] writing so beautifully captured all the emotions throughout the novel.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'Those who enjoy [magical realism] are going to love the fairytale aspects of this charming, well-written book with its uplifting message and sweet romance.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lets condense that down a bit:

A charming story about Three strangers who even though they are attending a midnight book club are the three least likely people to enter a bookshop, but they do, for their midnight book club. Within they discover that books are words written upon the remnants of dead trees and that they too can re-write their own life story, leading to healing and transformation, by attending a midnight book club, in a bookshop. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Would you attend the midnight book club, held in a bookshop?*

*Ok I just added that bit in myself

Also, someone watermarking the AI-generated fanart they're posting on AO3 is certainly a... choice.

Related: A series that you have been reading for years has a reboot that makes everything you previously read invalid. Not an updated version of an previous series (like Battlestar Galactica), but the series hasn't ended and suddenly everything has changed.

Or the author died.

Or after the 6th book in the more than 10 series it was tedious

Or the main character suddenly has a completely different sexual orientation in the 6th (or whatever book).

Or the last book has a crazy rushed ending (the Character is suddenly a god and makes everything OK, or it was all a dream, or a robot had been manipulating everything from the start - Asimov 30 years later Foundation Series retcon & zeroth law).

Or the alien technology turns out to be magic in the last book.

Or the magic turns out to be forgotten genetic engineering or etc in a much later book. (Pern, Shannara)

Some series suffer from more than one of these. Wheel of Time?

Or (sorry if I post about for the second time: didn't posted the full explanation before) the author suffered a controversy, on copyrights from a videogame he also made, inspiring it by his previous work that was that book - so the rights of it would had been not clear and the book, which seems to have a fan made translation and a professional one, is still not being sold...
