Lightbulb Merging multiple recipes (meta-recipes?)

Hey, is there any feature to merge multiple recipes to output to a single EPUB file? Have quite a few recipes and compiling separate epubs which I then have to merge is quite inconvenient.
Alternatively, is there a quicker and more automatic way to merge EPUBs other than the EpubMerge plugin? Preferably through the command line.

Thinking of working around this by having everything be output to HTML (with no TOC), merging those HTML files and converting back to EPUB. Yes, I lose out on a TOC,[1] but this can all happen programmatically with ebook-convert so I'm fine with it.

[1]: Think this could be worked around with Pandoc? Don't have time to try it out rn, will look into it later.

Related stuff I found, all of which have dead ends:

why dont you just combine your multiple recipes into a single one manually, as in write a single recipe that downloads from all the recipe sources.

May I have some guidance on how to do so? I'm currently using some of the built-in recipes and a basic recipe with a list of feeds made using the calibre interface.
Is it possible to process one feed in a certain way and another a different way? Say, merge The Economist's recipe and the BBC's?

I only have very basic programming knowledge.
