Just got in from hand pollinating Amaryllises. The hardy ones grow outside here and are stupid easy to grow from seed....(but it takes 3 years for them to get big enough to bloom.)

Next year....Roses!

Thanks, I think I'll just go for the "Big Book of British Smiles" look instead ... ;-)
HOW much???

And, as a Brit, what's wrong with British smiles?

I think the reference to 'The Big Book of British Smiles' is from a Simpsons episode (getting Lisa to accept a brace I think).

For some reason it seems to be an accepted fact in some parts that we Brits have bad teeth.

Ahhh - not seen all that much of The Simpsons, so I must've missed that one!

*peers at teeth* OK - mine are a little crooked, and they're not brilliant white, but they're all intact - no fillings, no holes And the only work I've ever had to have done was having an impacted wisdom tooth removed. :sowhere'sthesmugsmileygone?:

Personally, I find the uniformly perfect (in colour and shape etc) teeth on show on US TV shows to be a little unnerving!

I have to admit I've only really noticed it when the teeth have been accompanied by a fixed-grimace type smile that doesn't make it up into the eyes - which either look bored or manic. That look can be rather scary! (I don't actually watch that much by way of TV or films, though, and most of the TV I watch is British.)

Trying not to melt. It's 93 degrees and 50% humidity out there today. You can't step outside for thirty seconds without breaking into a sweat.

Well, they have all been straightened and bleached. Either that, or they've had veneers put on. However, since I've had the exact same procedures done myself, I guess it would be remiss of me to toss stones in their direction.

As long as the fairies don't mind how (or WHERE) she cooks their pancakes, who are we to object?
