This is an alternate history of the Space Race. The USSR get to the moon first, so the space race continues into the late 1970s....

I bought this a while back and read it a few days ago. It reminded me a bit of The Martian, in that our hero survives impossible odds, but in a way that is just plausible. I enjoyed it.
