New Kindle Scribe update: 5.18.3
A new update to Kindle Scribe was released today. The new features aren't listed on the page, but they do once installed.
1) Active Canvas - Move: You can move any inserted canvas by holding your finger on the canvas and dragging it across the page.
2) The usual performance improvements, bug fixes, and general enhancements.

Nice that they are tweaking Active Canvas notes, but until I can at least view them with something other than a Kindle Scribe, I am not using them much.

I'd like to be able to minimize them as well (either all or one at a time) and have a reciprocal expand feature.

I hope also that you can move Active Canvas to previous next page by dragging to upper left or lower right corner respectively? I'll try it when I get around to installing update.

Installed manually.

It seems you cannot drag an active canvas note to previous or next page directly (e.g., by dragging to top left corner or lower right and holding to turn page, like you can to extend a highlight).

A workaround is to temporarily reduce text size (e.g. pinch gesture), then move it and restore original text size (spread gesture).

Has anyone installed the update on a jailbroken Scribe? Is it similar to 5.18.2, where an existing jailbreak is recoverable afterwards?

I've read posts on reddit that it was not recoverable, but then again, this could be biased because only people who failed to recover may post on reddit .

Note that all of the 11th generation and later Kindles have a 5.18.3 update.

Looks like there are more features in this update that are likely part of the vague "other general enhancements" in the Release Notes, where there are multiple new options for adjusting the text in a book. I'm sure this is remotely activated post-install, and I also guess that it likely only works on newer Kindle Store books or KFX. This feature may be why the 10th gen Kindles got cut off, and they are likely only going to get security updates instead of feature updates.

About time. If somehow I mess up my jailbreak install, I guess I won't mind as much, but benefits of Koreader still far outweigh convenience of native reader to go bakc.

I am not seeing it myself on the Kindle I manually updated. I suppose I am an ebook barbarian, as it's not something I've ever wanted to fiddle with.

I don't mind no feature updates for my kindle gen 10. But a fix for closing every now and then with voiceview would be great. Not sure if that is called ghosting . It's annoying started since 18.1
