Non-Resident Library Cards

A tiny update for the charts re: Stark: the $100 fee no longer applies, as Stark is free to all Ohio residents and unavailable for out-of-staters.

Does anyone not US-based (or in North America) have problems accessing ocls.org or ocls.info? (I have no problems with OCLS Overdrive).

I'm in Europe and I've tried everything I can think of to get the site to load (webproxies, VPN, 4 different browsers); after a while it just times out.

Last year I logged in via VPN - this year no such luck. My card expires at the beginning of July, so any hints or help would be much appreciated

ETA: I MEANT "North America", but wrote "US-based". Sorry!

For what it may be worth, I can access ocls.org but I am in North America if not the US.

I'm in Europe and I can access both sites with no problem.

Thanks, everyone. I finally got the VPN to work and was able to renew my library card until 2026.

Any reason why only Brooklyn’s Books Unbanned card is listed? Also, it seems libraries would be more open to offering non-resident cards if folks donated in return for using their services (especially free ones).

That being said, Clermont County, OH who also uses The Ohio Digital Library [same as Stark] will issue a card for $75. I haven't added it to the list in case they make similar changes like Stark.

I will check them out if they are a possibility when my Stark expires toward end of year.

Clermont issued me a card. I got it a month ago on 6/6. I received my email about Stark on 7/1.
