Are there changes underway to ramp up ads for users? - Page 2

I've an open mind to all possibilities.

Has anyone actually looked at the source code, logged in, on a thread page to see if there is such a division with "adsbygoogle".
It may be normally disabled by logged in users with CSS or Javascript but the div may still be there.

My internet has been running fine, except for MobileRead.
I've been getting Gateway Timeouts randomly from nginx.
This has occurred on cell data when not logged in also.
Has anybody else been running into delays?

There's a thread right below this one discussing the sluggishness and occasional 504s being experienced the last two days.

It's not adverts. Its the site is overloaded.

Well, yeah, I was just mentioning since no one mentioned it here.
I saw the statistics and the most users was a few days ago.
That's always a warning sign.

But when I was looking at all this it seems like the HTML was being edited.
I mean I was seeing changes like the height attribute moved between parent and child.
Not Javascript, I mean different times.

Couple times, yeah. I had even taken a screenshot of it but my clipboard got overwritten and now it's not showing on this page.

On this particular workstation, the only thing I have installed is uBlock Origin, which is what I have nearly everywhere. On some workstations I still have uMatrix as well, but not this one.

I guess that's automatic tagging or else a mod stuck that in there.

Just a normal added tag that I can see. Added tags are agoing to show at the bottom of a thread (below the most recent post at the time. That's nothing new. There's no history available on who tagged it, but I doubt very highly it was automated. It's a pretty accurate tagging all things considered.

i see these blocks all the time, but i'm also using an adblocker so it makes sense they'd be empty.
use an adblocker ladies, it's safer to browse the internet with that :D

(I understand Ads pay for what I get to view for free, but when it gets excessive (like recently), I do click away. Ads should inform or tempt

)

I believe that is just a user supplied tag that the forum permits.

I couldn't use the internet even for an hour without an adblock. It's just awful. I get an instant headache.

These days I use uBlock Origin on my laptop, and the Opera browser with built-in adblocking on my phone.

I was unable to connect at all using my main internet conneciton. When I checked on my mobile data with no adblocking, there were enormous ads that made half the page inaccessible. Make what you will of that.
