i went looking for some youtubey cirque nouveau goodness and it's surprisingly hard to find, but then i remembered i had found some clips recently of les colporteurs ; they're not quite typical because it's a troupe only of funambules but the ambiance is right, so thought i'd just quote those posts. i also recommend the company cahin caha (among others) if you ever get the chance to see them.

That was some amazing stuff. The guy in the red shoes especially. But I also loved in one of the other clips, the lady with the fans. And the music set it all off nicely (reminded me of some of Tom Waits stuff)

That's easy. Double click on the post number, it will isolate the post, now save it in your favorites\bookmarks in a folder for such collection.

yes, they're brilliant. i wish i could find some clips of chien cru, which was the first show i saw by cahin caha. it was amazing. alas, apparently nobody had a cellphone with a camera back in those days...

That was fantastic! I'd love to see that live. And for some odd reason it reminded me of Luis Bunuel's "Un Chien Andalou", maybe because of the surreal atmosphere, I'm not sure.
