The other thing I was thinking about the BookFab Kindle Converter is that they've figured out how to get the key from the current K4PC.

I just read many pages back to April trying to find out why K4PC is no longer downloading books. I assume it has to do with publishing dates??
K4PC wants me to update so I guess this stops me from buying from Amazon permanently. |

I haven't tested this, but it may be a low-tech solution for now. Try one of those timers that turn on a lamp for a user-specified duration. Just plug in your charger instead of a lamp. Charge your Kindle first, then let the timer charge it for, say, an hour every day. You'll still have to check the charge level, but you may be able to work out a good schedule.

BookFab's requirement of '40GB of free hard disk space or above' seems excessive just to emulate a viewer that doesn't support KFX.

i checked and - C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Amazon\Kindl e\storage\ in the storage folder is .kinf2018 - i use k4pc v2.4.0 (70904) the folder will contain a file .kinf with 4 other digits i assume if you use a different version of k4pc kindle titles used to contain an identifier which linked the title directly to the person who downloaded it - it began with atv:kin and a string of characters - this is why tik modified Tools, specificaly to remove that identifier dvdfab won't release the pending program until someone else finds a method to remove drm - i doubt they are trying to do it themselves |

Another possibility is that they are using K4PC to display the page on a virtual monitor and doing a screen cap of each page, sending it to their servers for OCR and then sending the results back as text/whatever to be converted back to whatever output format they may be using. That would explain the need for being online and the amount of space required since the scan is likely to consume quite a bit of disk space (I used a 5"x7.8" more or less paperback sized page scanned at 1200DPI to give ~58MB per page).

Not sure if I posted this. But it comes with a audiobook maker. Which A would require a lot of space and B require a online connection . If it connects to their database to create up to date voice
