Koreader crashing/possible installation error?
I've been trying to download and open Koreader version 2025.04 Full Moon to my Kindle 2, but Koreader keeps crashing whenever I click any of the 3 Start options from the KUAL menu.
I can't find a crash log, but I was able to find this through the KUAL menu: /tmp/klauncher_background-62037.sh: /mnt/us/koreader/koreader.sh: not found I'm not sure if I maybe unzipped the koreader file into the root directory incorrectly or if it's something else, but I can't seem to find anything on Github or here with this error. Please advise, thank you so much ![]() |

Sorry, I need new eyes. What program do you use to unpack stuff? Try 7-Zip or PeaZip. Most probably files got wrong encoding or got corrupted, and are not recognized as scripts anymore (koreader.sh)

Of course you need to use that legacy version.
You problem is probably related to how or where you unpacked the archive you downloaded. Connect the Kindle to your computer and check if you have "koreader" folder at the top level of kindle drive. If it's there open it and check if it contains file "koreader.sh" inside of it. Make screenshots that show contents of both folders I've mentioned and share them here. |

Okay thank you, this definitely helped a bit! I just used PeaZip to unpack the file and I can see more files now but I still can't load Koreader without it crashing or taking me back to main Kindle menu.

> I unpacked the archive with peazip by extracting directly to my Kindle drive
This might be a problem. Try unpacking it locally to PC first, then copy and overwrite files on Kindle |

Try what mergen3107 suggests, but your screenshots look right to me compared to mine.
If nothing else works you could try a different version of koreader - still the legacy branch, but a newer or older release. |

This may be a stupid question, but is the k2 known to support koreader? Is there enough memory available? If memory is insufficient it will not run in any case.

I also remember you need to install MKK package from NiLuJe’s Snapshots too
