It's a cool idea but I know this would distract me constantly. I would not be able to sit still with it.

Looks rather chunky to me, weighs more than my iPhone 13 Pro. I read easily on the phone when out and about, and have a long wait. I don't want or need another device to carry. I don't get the desire for a foldable reader. I can only read one page at a time. It seems gimmicky to me, a solution for a non-problem. |

take 2 phone sized ereaders, load them up with the same book, then turn one page with the other one is refreshing because you actually bought those super slow refresh price tag displays

I also probably won't buy another tablet until Samsung (or another good, non-Apple, company) releases a tablet that, when unfolded, is approximately the size of my 17" laptop. At that point, the laptop gets replaced by the foldable tablet. However, I don't think I'd ever be interested in a foldable ereader, or e-ink tablet, they just would not likely offer enough of an advantage because there's so much you can't do (very well) using e-ink. Insteead of replacing a device I already own, a foldable e-reader would just be adding to my number of devices.

my 2 cents: I have an Oppo N5, and a lenovo X1 Fold 13 lol... the fold is to help put the device into a smaller bag, the X1 fits into a regular ipad pouch. For text I can read on anything, my N5 can do fold/unfold depending on epub/pdf/cbz or Libby and its Magazines too. I would rather have this unfold into 13" than 8", so that it's useful for magazines and dual-paged manga etc. The X1 Fold 13 is my favourite folding form factor but it's just too clunky (win11, 1kg, 1" thick) for a daily driver, but it's good as a travel laptop and a lap-based reader... |

oh I also have the Bigme Galy, which was a decent Android but unpolished device. Gallery 3 must be seen IRL to be appreciated, and it has a BW mode that's pretty fast and contrasty when colour is unnecessary (but you can toggle it to view covers). 8" slow refresh doesn't work at all (using Libby magazines as use case)... (I also have a working KA1 for comparison to everything new I buy ) |
