Manual 'Edit TOC' change doesn't get applied to the file unless I use 'Save As'

Hello! I just got started on the Sigil, and I noticed a small problem regarding the TOC.

When I generate the TOC automatically by 'Generating TOC' option, Manual change on TOC by 'Edit TOC' doesn't applies to actual file.

thus Sigil displays TOC as I wanted(and edited), but when I use epub reading program(Aquile Reader for my case), It shows initial TOC and my edit isn't applied, no matter how much I saved the .epub on the Sigil.

Thankfully using 'Save As', and saving the .epub with different name solved the issue.

I'm not sure if anyone other experienced such issue, and about exact reason for it(I think it's either working on Sigil with the file open, or just issue regarding my Korean language), but I think this post could be helpful if anyone is experiencing such problem.

Cheers!

My guess is your e-reading device reads only from ncx to get the toc, many old epub2 only ereaders do that, but under epub3, the info you changed was written to the nav file. You can run an epub3 only Sigil tool to manually sync the official nav with the now deprecated and legacy ncx.

I personally would think about moving to an e-reader that actually supports both epub3 and epub2, and not just epub2. It has been almost 15 years since the epub3 spec was released.
