I've tried the above ones (only Update_mkk-20250419-k5-ALL_keystore-install.bin recognized by device), but then got message: "The item is not signed by an authorized developer. Please contact the developer." I'm still running PW2 (fw 5.4.3.2) Thank you |

Hi all! Just want to chime in and say the above steps (reinstalling KUAL with the newest version + installing the DevCerts update) unfortunately didn't work for me either on a Kindle 3G Keyboard. I continue to get the error "The title is not signed by a registered developer."
Before I was changing the time using USB Network to get back into KUAL and KOReader, but after updating KUAL I don't think that's an option anymore. I'll keep my eye on this thread hoping for a fix. If anyone has any ideas or knows of steps I've missed, feel free to let me know! |

Quick follow up: It appears I missed a step while updating KUAL! I forgot to replace (in my case) "KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2" in the documents folder with the newer version, and instead only updated using the install.bin file.
After replacing the .azw2 file in my documents folder, everything is working perfectly. Thank you! |

I've just respun the packages, which should fix the glaring error caught by @shamanNS above, as well as another, sneakier but oh so much worse breakage they also caught, thanks

Still cannot get it to work on Kindle PW2 running 5.4.3.2. I've installed the latest KUAL and reran the keystore update. I'm getting the error "The item is not signed by an authorized developer." when I try to launch KUAL.

I've uploaded latest "KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2" into "documents" folder and got the same message on my PW2.

Remove the azw2 version of KUAL and install the bin file ( = copy the bin into "mrpackages" folder and trigger MRPI install by using ;log mrpi in search bar) to get the booklet version of KUAL.
Other people that had the same error with new azw2 KUAL already confirmed (on Discord server) that booklet version of KUAL works fine. Since you're using PW1 you can and should use the booklet version of KUAL anyways. p. s. I have absolutely no idea why the new azw2 version doesn't work. I have a KOA3 that I jailbroke back in January when WinterBreak was released. Should I update my KUAL installation even though the original release I installed is working great? If so, what's the best way to update, and will I need to reinstall anything else, like MRPI or KOReader? Can I leave OTA updates disabled?
Nevermind, I just copied the KUAL bin file to my mrpackages folder, ran KUAL -> Helper+ -> Install MR Packages, and it did its thing. I'm now updated to 2.7 (20250419)! Last edited by PiperKev; 04-24-2025 at 12:57 PM. Reason: Update post |
