it is solved: reflash stock boot and then update and magiskify it again.

the following is what worked on the latest Go Color 7

download goco7.bin, place in edl.exe directory

- adb reboot edl
- edl /lgoco7.bin
- edl.exe /r /pboot_a boota.img /t
- edl /z

copy boota.img to Downloads dir on device
use latest Magisk to patch boota.img
copy boota_patched.img to the same directory as edl.exe is located

do not boot into bootloader, didnt work for me
- adb reboot edl
- edl /lgoco7.bin
- edl /w /pboot_a boota_patched.img
- edl /z

patching complete! verify patching complete with Magisk

use to revert back changes

- adb reboot edl
- edl /lgoco7.bin
- edl /w /pboot_a boota.img
- edl /z

patching reversed! verify reversal with Magisk

I'm buying a Go Color 7 v2, do you think/know if the same process will work with it?

yes it works with the latest firmware! not sure about v2 though.

I am on the latest fw now. The process itself works however magisk hangs in splash screen. It is asking for root but module handling not possible. Any ideas? Magisk version 30.2 but I tried Also29

I opened a post https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=369870

It seems that the latest OEM update introduces something non-standard.

A workaround for module handling is to use command line interface of magisk to install/remove modules. The removal is explained in https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/faq.html (the first question).
