How to rar or zip several books at once?

Hello, usually I go into each book's folder and gather all the epubs and then create a rar or zip from there. Is it possible to make a rar or zip from the main interface of Calibre? Thank you in advance.

You are best to stay out of the library's directories. The best thing to do is to select the books you want and then then use Save to Disk. Then you can RAR ior ZIP the eBook in that one directory.

Also note that creating a zip, rar or 7z or other archive from epubs does not save that much space. A sample ZIP archive of 74 epubs taking up 88.3 MB (92,623,084 bytes) on disk shows the .zip file size as 87.7 MB (92,062,644 bytes). Using 7z or rar saved a bit more space but nothing significant.

Zipping (or RAR) might be useful to keep a series together without EPUB Merging them), but not much for file size savings.

Thanks all for the answers! The purpose was not for saving storage but to make it quicker to upload it to somewhere else with some groupings that I'd like to do (e.g: same author or same series).

I would suggest using save to disk in a single folder to save your books and then zipping/raring/whatever those copies.
