Also Translator Notes. Many manga books include notes on issues with the translation. One manga I've been reading (English Title: Farewell, Mr. Despair) contains many pages of translation notes about things to help English readers better understand the story. The story features many references to Japanese history and pop culture in the story. A number also include at the beginning an explanation of honorifics (which indicates the relationship between individuals). As an example, only intimate friends refer to each other by their personal name only, without an honorific.

I don't mind it, and I think it is a better option than putting samplers of other ebooks at the end. A better option might be to just have samples available for download at the ebook retailer website and leave it up to the user whether or not to download it. That's an option at the Nook Website.

I read a book with a chapter that was nearly 110 pages in my Kobo. Most oft the other chapters were 20-30 pages. There were several scene breaks in the chapter. Odd authorial decision.

"Sci-fi, fantasy, and horror books on sale"
"Want to Lose Weight Fast? These Science-Backed Tips Can Help You Lose Weight Sustainably" This sounds about right. |

In this fanfic I'm reading, someone has a cardiac arrest and the nurse directly injects aspirin into their heart. I'm pretty sure that's not right.

Perhaps adrenaline directly into the heart. Oddly though that has been used for more than 60 years to assist with CPR, the evidence that it actually does more good than injecting into a vein is thin on the ground. Something like a 3.2% survival rate (131/4,105) compared to 2.4% (96/3999) in one study but severe brain damage is found in 31% of those who received adrenaline compared to 18% of those who did not receive adrenaline. OTOH, only 27 of the 227 people in the study were revived without showing neurological symptoms checked at 30 days after revival.
But aspirin directly into the heart? AFAIR, aspirin is used as a blood thinner and a direct injection into the heart sounds like the heirs and assigns will be launching a malpractice suit. |

The only good thing was that Medical Services Plan paid the bill. Remember if they need to do CPR, you are already dead. They are trying to drag you back but it's a low percentage that get dragged back. In the study I looked at, they found a 3.2% revival rate with adrenaline but in the combined total, ~12% of the 30 day survivors did not suffer neurological issues (~0.33% of all the people in the study). |

I'm not sure if the author knew the difference between the two though. They used both terms interchangably and the symptoms were just him collapsing. Later on its mentioned to be caused by the "stress" of the love interest rejecting him (yeah it's that kind of fic).... so maybe Takotsubo cardiomyopathy? It's not the ASIN or ISBN that gets changed. Some eBooks have a version number at the bottom of the copyright page. So you know that way it's been updated.

My wife has in hospital and they said she needed to go to rehab and go by ambulance. I said I could drive her. When I we got the bill for the ambulance ride, I refused to pay it. Not when she was well enough for me to have taken her int he car. I never did pay. That's what they get for charging so much for an an unnecessary ride.
