Hi Dalton,
I was wondering if you could somehow indicate WHICH long comments column is being deleted since there is no way to tell by the cursor (at least in my settings that I haven't figured out how to change) which column I am indicating. It's just one long highlighted row and I am hoping that when I highlight my entire library (since you cant just highlight a column) that the cursor is in the desired column. Otherwise, love the plugin!

EDIT: changed Calibre to Calibre Settings and not System Settings because system settings made the row cursor opaque and I couldn't see the individual box. No need for the changes

Has anybody had recent success with 'tickle auto-adder to wake up'?

I've been running into spordaic failures of the autoadd folder; the Tickler worked in the past for this but it doesn't seem to do anything now.

It's funny that you ask. I'd just installed JS for the first time for the Tickler and it worked perfectly for me.

I use JobSpy's AutoAdd per-library tweak. I point the entries in job_spy_auto_add_directory in Plugin Tweaks at .autoadd directories within the library folders themselves. Never needed to use the Tickler.

The other panes do open upon click, so the issue pertains to that menu entry only. The Calibre debug logs do not indicate anything problematic (see image).

This issue has been persistent for me for many years (five-six), on many versions of your plugin, both on Linux (Arch) and Windows (10/11) machines.

Do you have an idea on how to fix this?

Thanks for all your work,

Jean-Thomas
Long overdue, but I did manage to change these parameters through the stock user interface colors setting in "Look & feel," I guess these additional tweaking features must have rolled out in a fairly recent Calibre update...

Job Spy Custom icons greyed out. Help!

Hi,

I have been adding custom icons to my custom columns and their children on calibre using Job Spy.

While this is working pretty well, I am having an issue where any of the 'children' or sub-category icons for my custom columns are greyed out at the top of the icon.

Can someone please tell me how to fix this or give me the correct size/resolutions i should make my custom icons so that they fit properly in the given space without being greyed out?

I would rather keep them the maximum size and get rid of the grey area, but if this isnt possible, then so be it.

When you expand a standard column, the icons are not greyed out even if you are using custom icons, so i don't know why this only affects custom column icons on calibre.

I have attached a couple of images... the first is a standard column expanded, with no greyed out area at the top. The second is the custom column where you can see each icon is greyed out at the top.

Thanks for the help.

Calibre has built-in column icons now, to get around limitatons in Job Spy's and the plugin unmaintained. Try them, in the context menu.

Thanks for the response.

I assumed I had been doing this through Job spy, but it turns out I was following this method all along.

Unfortunately, using the native solution still has the same issue where the "children' icons are greyed out at the top.

Any ideas?

The OP got the answer in their double-post https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=366641

BTW: this question is answered in the calibre documentation for the tag browser.
Quote:
Items in the Tag browser have their icons partially colored. The amount of color depends on the average rating of the books in that category. So for example if the books by Isaac Asimov have an average of four stars, the icon for Isaac Asimov in the Tag browser will be 4/5th colored. You can hover your mouse over the icon to see the average rating.
