Sorry, but it really is that binary. If you want privacy you have to be a private person. There is no privacy at a bazaar--physical or digital. Anyone who thinks they can maintain privacy AND attach devices to the internet are fooling themselves.

People also need to stop conflating security with privacy. I personally don't really care at all about the latter.

I have an Echo Show second gen that someone gifted me, but it just sits in the kitchen and I rarely use it. Otherwise I use Google speakers everywhere else.
