Hi, I've tried this but it still creates an epub file which then the plugin won't convert. I'm setting both the input and output as epub within the conversion. Any ideas?

After you choose epub output, click the EPUB output section and make sure the EPUB version setting is 2.
Other than that, I'd need to know the exact message you get and, ideally, see the input epub. |

Ahhh this makes sense. I wasn't changing the version setting. Thank you.

Suggestion for an update
A suggestion that I would like to make for this plugin is the following:
Make it possible to have a box popup to where you can give the starting part and then giving the ending part; without having to click on every part in between. Reason that I am making this suggestion is that I have a condition where at some point in the very near future I am not going to be able to feel the mouse in my hand. My fingers will go numb. This suggestion would make it very easy for me to split books. |

You don't need to click every one.
Click the first one you want, scroll down, hold shift, click the last one you want. This is a basic feature of virtually every list box. |

New Test Version Attached
2025-05-11 - Add 'Find' feature to search ToC entries. Added a 'Find' box under the ToC entries list. You can enter a string and search for all ToC entries containing that string. By default, ES will highlight found entries by changing the BG color of the ToC text. You can instead choose to select matches, or (if you have it enabled) check the 'Always include' checkbox. Note that each type of Find (Highlight, Select, Check) clears any previous highlights, selection or checked items, respectively--but not the other types. So you can search for more entries using Highlight without disturbing your checks or selection, for example. Does it also need a 'clear' button to clear highlights/selection/checks? Feedback appreciated. Last edited by JimmXinu; 06-05-2025 at 02:09 PM. Reason: remove obsolete test version |

New Test Version Posted
2025-06-25 - Scan CSS for @imports and url()s for more files to include. Don't include *all* fonts. In answer to this issue, I've revisited how CSS is processed and included in split books. The attached version scans all External (<link>'ed), Internal (<style>) and Inline (style= attrs) CSS used in all included html files for @imports and url() references for more files to include. That (typically) covers additional CSS files, images and font files. What it does not do is 'render' the HTML to see which CSS rules are actually applied. So good odds of including extra files that are referenced, but not used. Also, at this time, url() and @import that fail will fail 'loud' and raise an exception. This is deliberate (for now) so we see issues faster. |
