I now see a different issue, however, but I haven't had time to look into what it means or how common it is (I'm on my first morning coffee of the day. Mercy!). The book I'm currently reading, which I bought on Kobo before getting the device, downloaded, de-DRMed, and converted on my PC, does not update its reading status in the Calibre library. Furthermore, another book that I bought on the Kobo but didn't download yet does not show up on the list of books on the device's main memory. I'm a little confused. Is this by design? Is there anything I can do to change this behavior? |

Until you have downloaded the book, it will not show as being on the device. Which makes sense since until you download it, it is not on the device.
As for the other book, are you reading a copy that was synced to your Kobo or are you reading a copy that was transferred over USB? If you match the copy synced from Kobo to the copy in calibre, the reading status, for me, does show up. If you sent a copy to your Kobo over USB does the On device column show 2 (or more) copies. |

Thank you for cluing me in on the bigger issues here. As I looked into this, I began to realize that the issues I was seeing were bigger than just what I described in the original post. Now that I was able to properly connect, I did a database check on the Kobo via Calibre and got a bunch of errors (row X missing from index content_keys_volume and wrong # of entries in index content_keys_volume). I ended up following the advice in a different thread and signed out of my Kobo account and then signed back in, and that seems to have fixed all my remaining issues. The book I'm reading is now synchronizing properly, and the new, unread book is showing up as in the device's main memory.
Thank you all and my apologies for making a mess of things. |

Hello, is there an issue with the automatic database backup?
I can't figure out why it doesn't trigger, neither as a "daily backup" nor "on each connection". Everything appears to be set up correctly. |

Looks fine to me. "Copies to keep" enabled? I don't have it on.

Thanks for this Plug-in.
Yesterday I Backed up 8054 reading status on one Kobo (in one go) and wrote them to a second Kobo. I actually copied 8038 ebooks to the second Kobo first in one go as an experiment rather than usual few 100 at a time (which took about 200 minutes) and then waited for those to import after eject (which took a while) and then reconnected, which updated series etc. Then I restored the reading positions of the 8038 selected titles. All worked. Simply trying to copy files inc the database dierect between two Sage ereaders caused a "critical error" and the fresh Kobo Sage reset and erased everything. The Kobo database backup worked for both Sage ereaders yesterday. Everything seems upto date (Calibre, Kobo Driver, Kobo Utilities etc) I don't use kepub on Send, though I might have one or two for testing. I suppose I should delete older database backups occasionally. |

No backup generated. I'm on the last version of Calibre and the plugin. Am i missing some setting? |

Probably overrides the setting "Backup the device database daily" so you can uncheck that one. |
