Kindle Reboot Loop after Winterbreak
So, I jailbreaked my Kindle Gen 11 3 weeks ago, and have been using KOreader which I have been very happy with.
Today I had the device plugged into my computer, to remove some .MD highlights which I was not using. After I ejected my device (while it was in the Kindle userface), it started rebooting. It's an endless reboot loop, until I turned airplane mode on. If I start "Run Hotfix" it will reboot. If I start "KUAL" I can open it and go to KOReader. The issue is, that I cannot enable wifi anymore. What to do? |

Alright, so I looked around a bit.
It looked like the "Update_hotfix_universal.bin" was missing from the root folder. It was also explained that that could happen if Amazon releases new updates. As soon as I added it again, it stopped restarting. So I guess that vulnerability will always be there? I also made sure of this: Disable OTA update (KUAL -> Rename OTA binaries -> Rename) After I pressed "Rename OTA binaries" it restarted. I don't know if that is normal behaviour, but anyways, it's not restarting anymore, and KOreader is working! |
