Scribe auto-rotation... - Page 2

I just checked the auto-rotate on my Scribe. It has to be rotated almost the full 180 before it flips the display. Turning it 90 degrees does nothing.

The jailbreak is not an OS replacement, nor a full ROM replacement. Jailbreaking is just making it so you can run 3rd party code on the Kindle. It does not block or break normal functioning of the Kindle OS to be jailbroken. There are plugins that do things like block OTA firmware updates but nothing will block your ability to use the Kindle Store and make and download purchases.

I thought that when using WinterBreak, a jailbroken Kindle could not use the store unless you either restored the content of the .active_content_sandbox/store directory to pre-jailbreak or deleted the contents of the directory.

I don't recall doing either of those to my Scribe, and hitting the shopping cart icon from my Home tab brings up the Kindle Store as expected.

Not sure why but I just checked on my PW4 and the content of the /.active_content_sandbox/store/resource/cachedResources folder was still the index.html file inserted by WinterBreak which would keep the store from working. I may have screwed up a step in the jailbreak to cause this.

I have done the 5.17.3 upgrade after being jailbroken on 5.17.2. It's possible it got replaced or the cache wiped as part of that. I don't use the store from the Scribe almost ever, and I don't think I tried to open it before the firmware update.

Entirely possible. I haven't looked at the firmware download to see what it includes but since it does seem to correct the OTA binaries renames, that suggestion sounds reasonable.
